Eligibility & Coverage

Understanding eligibility, insurance coverage, and Contract Health Services at Round Valley Indian Health Center.

The Round Valley Indian Health Center (RVIHC) is a small ambulatory out-patient state licensed community health clinic and a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation providing health care services to the entire Round Valley community.

RVIHC is primarily funded by the Indian Health Service (IHS). Due to insufficient federal funding, the Health Center bills third-party insurance and offers assistance programs for patients with limited resources.

The Health Center also administers contracted health care funds for eligible Native American patients requiring hospital or specialty care.

Third Party Resources

  • Medi-Cal patients are accepted for all services offered at the Health Center.
  • Medicare patients are accepted for all services offered at the Health Center.
  • Private insurance is billed when applicable. Co-payments are due at the time of service.
  • Fee-for-service patients without insurance and not eligible for discount programs are expected to pay at the time of visit.

Contract Health Services (CHS)

Contract Health Services cover care that cannot be provided at the Health Center. Due to limited funding, eligibility requirements and approval processes mandated by the Indian Health Service apply.

  • A Level One CHS referral from a Round Valley Indian Health Center provider.
  • Application to all alternate resources (Medi-Cal, Medicare, CMSP, or private insurance).
  • Notification of the CHS office within 72 hours of any emergency service.
