A Note About Diabetes

Diabetes is one of the most challenging health issues facing our community today. On average, American Indians and Alaska Natives are significantly more likely to develop diabetes than non-Hispanic whites of similar age.

Research shows that small lifestyle changes—such as improving diet and engaging in regular physical activity—can help prevent or delay the onset of Type 2 diabetes among adults at high risk.
